Academic Regalia of the Fellows

The interface of law and medicine

Introducing the distinguished academic regalia of the Fellows of the American College of Legal Medicine, featuring purple velvet front panels and three chevrons on each sleeve symbolizing the law degree. The velvet portion of the hood varies depending on the recipient’s additional degree (hunter green for medicine, lilac for dentistry, etc.). The hood silk lining has the ACLM colors, which are blue and gold, as found in the ACLM logo. Accompanied by an elegant eight-sided purple doctoral tam, this regalia embodies scholarly excellence. Notably, the presidential regalia includes an extra fourth chevron on each sleeve and the revered beefeater, exclusively reserved for the President or Past Presidents of the College, honoring their dedication and leadership within the College.
